Florals do not usually get me excited.
The liberty prints that got put on everything this spring
were pretty, but wouldn't make it through the front door here.

Recently spruced up the powder room and
I was looking for a little inspiration for art,
and thats when I found the photostream of
Jenny Kapteijn.

Have you seen this woman's work?
Simplicity of form, abundant texture and glorious color.
LOVE it!

Those are florals I would bring home - lovely!

It's Victoria Day - Pledge Allegiance with Etsy

It's a holiday weekend up here in the North, monday being Victoria Day..
While the throngs descend on our nearby beach and lakes,
I am off to the quiet city for a wee Queen Street/Chinatown/Kensington Market shop :)

Flikr Tales...

A picture speaks a thousand words,
so today we will let these spectacular flikr images tell yesterdays story.

I have two sisters.
One was a gift from my Mum and one was a gift from my brother.

During easter a sister inquired if I would like some shrubs and a tree she wanted out of her garden.

This is our first summer here, and I am trying to fill in this.

shovel in hand, off goes the merry adventurer...

questioning my sanity as the skies churned, and rain rushed

so now four spireas and a cherry tree live here

after inspiration,

and having planned the garden here, I am going here

and that, my friends, is the end of the story...

til next time...
