Hello lovelies! I have recently become acquainted with the super-sweet and very talented Sare, the artisan behind the Etsy shop Miss Fluff. tray display

a rhyming title, pretty witty for a monday morning, no?!!

How was everyone's weekend? We got oodles of snow here, but none of us minded, because we were indoors, trying on summer clothes for our upcoming beach vacay! (Does anyone else go up a size over the winter? Aggghhh!) 8 doys 'til we leave, not that I am counting :) I have some very cool guest bloggers lined up for you while I'm away, it's gonna be GOOOD!

Anyway, I was looking at this photo over the weekend (its from House and Home mag, that amazing equine inspired home from last year, but I don't have the exact link).....

I love the impact these large trays have grouped as a wall display... and was thinking that this could be adapted for all sorts of rooms... so of course I went off looking for vintage trays that could be grouped together - and discovered there's heaps of them on Etsy...

Similar to a plate wall, but the larger scale means more a more dramatic display, right?
Anyone else feel a shopping spree coming on?!!

string art revisited

Remember string art?

I am probably really dating myself here, but at one point 

almost everyone I knew had some hideous version of a schooner or the like hanging in their rec room.

But I found a crafter on Etsy that is bringing string art to a new level.

I give you... California.

I don't know if you ever dined with a large group of Italians, 

but always, ALWAYS, you are being urged to "mangia, mangia!")

Found the work of Raphael Vicenzi via Urban Road,

a cool blog by artist Suzie Atkin I've just discovered,

and thought you may be taken with his work as much as I am....

It's a bit dark, but that edge is what makes it so interesting, yes?

I need this one. It's just jumped to the top of the very long art-I-covet list.

It's been a crazy few days, 

nd I haven't had time to photograph any of the things we've been working on round here,

 but next week hopefully the madness will subside a little..

I miss reading blogs!!!

We've officially fired our deck guy... 

it's been a month and he's put in a whopping forty hours,

and we have been forced to take matters into our own hands.

Let's just say I now know how to use a mitre saw.

If anyone knows of a decent carpenter in the Simcoe area, puh-lease let me know!!!

If you didn't get branches inside two or three weeks ago (aside from Martha, who does that?!!),

ordinary branches wrapped with yarn (made mine already :) are an easy option

or just leave them bare and adorn with lacy butterflies..

Anne-Marie is one of the loveliest people I have met since I started blogging

I probably never would have picked navy blue as my favourite colour

 a few months ago, but since I've started blogging,

 I've noticed that it just keeps popping up in my posts! 

When I find a room or home that I just absolutely adore, 

it almost always has some blue in it.

My favourite 'blue home' is Fiona Douglas' of Bluebellgray.

I love the colours she used on her walls 

(Farrow & Ball  "Pitch Blue" & "Dix Blue"),

 and all the beautiful accents that have some blue in them :)

Navy is one of my all-time favourites, as well -
I like it dark and sultry, bordering on black.
 And the art from JKL Design on Etsy?
